The nearby market town of Valence d’Agen (18 mins drive) offers the larger supermarkets, some fashion shops, garden stores, hairdressers, restaurants, etc. After that, there is the departmental town Agen within 30 minutes drive with the usual large stores, such as Lafayette, as well as upmarket fashion boutiques, etc.

Lachapelle is surrounded by many beautiful small towns and villages in the area with their unique qualities in short driving distances. Also the surroundings are exceptionally beautiful for walking.

There are no schools in the village itself, but children are collected by a bus and taken to the various schools in the neighbourhood.

As to restaurants, there is a wide choice of quality restaurants starting within 10 minutes driving distance. An example is the Auberge de Bardigues, a great favourite and regular with the current owners, where you get an exceptional 3 course meal including house wine for approx. 20 euros a head.
